We were so unhappy. So alone. That is why I loved you. I ran to your apartment crying, you kiss my wrists, my heart, lift me in a world where only we exist. The morning; 4 cups of coffee, the friendly burn of the morning cigarette, newspapers and the fucked up world. Death, hunger, war. Death, hunger, war. Death, hunger, war. The bed collapsed from the weight of the world and we were left panting on the floor.
I'm suffocating. I can’t breathe anymore.
Water racing, racing down your body to the shower floor. My head in your hands, on your shoulder, on your chest. We wanted to be so much closer.
This tie will match today, the diamond patterned noose around your neck.
Oh, the speckles in your eyes, the spot you kiss on my neck. Blink twice if this is good bye. No. Don’t tell me. Instead we will swing on the swings and hold hands in between and see who can go highest. The wind, leaves, the world closer and further, your head tilted back feet in the air.
Take me with you.
We were so happy. A world of our own. That is why I loved you.
